A note from France: In the coastal municipality of San Narciso, Zambales in the Philippines, local artist Mia Casal creates pieces inspired by her environment and a life away from the country's busy capital. The seas, the shore, the barnacles found on the pieces of driftwood after a storm- these sights brought about her Barnacle Catchall Dishes. Through her work, she is also able to help her community; employing her neighbors who work on tasks such as preparing clay, packing pieces, and other tasks. I love how every piece Mia makes is imperfectly perfect, unique in its own beauty, crafted by hand, made by a community, and is inspired by a place she calls home.

Handmade with black sand in Zambales and stoneware clay, colored with food safe glazes. The Barnacle Catchall Dish is food safe. DO NOT PUT IN THE DISHWASHER. Because of its handmade nature, every barnacle mug is different. No two dishes are exactly alike.
